Chapter: Connect AWS Amplify

Integrations

Connect AWS Amplify

The builds of your Amplify apps appear in the assigned projects.

Where to connect

In VentionDesk under Workspace › Sources › “Add source”, category Hosting, then AWS Amplify. Only the owner may connect, edit and remove.

Step by step

  1. Open the AWS console › IAM › Users › “Create user” and create a user just for VentionDesk, without console access.
  2. Under “Permissions” › “Create inline policy”, attach a read-only policy: actions amplify:ListApps, amplify:ListBranches and amplify:ListJobs, resource *.
  3. Under “Security credentials” › “Create access key”, choose “Third-party service” and copy the access key ID and secret access key.
  4. The region is shown at the top right of the Amplify console (e.g. eu-central-1). This access does not see apps in other regions.
  5. Every ten minutes, the latest builds of every branch of the assigned apps come in. Assignment happens automatically via the project’s GitHub repository; otherwise on the project page under “Deploy” › “Assign hosting”.

VentionDesk stores secret entries encrypted and never shows them again. They are only saved once the provider confirms the access; if you edit a connection and leave a secret field empty, the previous value is kept.
